When can I see the Stingrays?

The Stingrays of Hamelin Bay are wild creatures and we do not encourage feeding. There is not a specific time they are around although they are very popular in the summer months along the shores near our boat ramp. They do like the calm waters of the summer season so viewing in other months cannot be guaranteed and is very weather dependant.

Are there Hot Showers?

We have two amenities blocks with hot showers, laundry facilities with washers and dryers and also a campers kitchen with microwave, kettle, toaster, electric hotplates and gas burners for your cooking. These facilities are included in your price.

How much for the laundry?

Our washer machines are $5 per load (either $1 or $2 coins) and our clothes dryers are $2 per load (either $1 or $2 coins) for 20 minutes of drying.

Can I arrive after hours?

As our Reception closes at 5pm we have a “Late Arrivals with a booking” box situated on our front verandah at Reception where we will leave your map for after hours check in if you have a booking.

Do you have food available?

The Kiosk sells ice creams, coffee, snack, basic supplies, bait & ice creams. Magazines and newspapers & fresh bread are available in our Peak Seasons.

Do I need to bring water?

The water at Hamelin bay is sourced from a bore within our parks boundaries. We recommend our water is boiled before drinking. We do sell drinking water at our Kiosk.

Can we have a camp fire?

Fires are permitted here between 1st May to late November. We may extend or shorten these times due to weather conditions so it is always good to check before coming. We do sell firewood at our Kiosk in these times.

Can we bring our boat?

When making a booking, please let our reception staff know you intend to bring your boat so we can match a site suitable for your needs. We normally allow for one car per site, so if there is not room for your boat as well, this may have to be parked off site.

What time is Check in?

Our Check in times for Camping are from 12 midday and Cabins/Cottages are from 2pm. All departures are by 10am.

Can we drive on the beach at Hamelin?

No cars are allowed at Hamelin Bay Beach. There is a track which is 500 metres past Bushby Road turn off on Caves Road about 5kms from our Park which leads you down onto the beach. This track is for experienced 4WD only as it gets very rough and rocky. The sand at Boranup Beach can be quite soft as well.

Where can I fish at Hamelin?

Fishing is popular right off the beach here. They catch a selection of herring and whiting as well as crayfish off shore in the season. Bait is available at our Kiosk. There is a small boat ramp otherwise Augusta does have a Marina for launching.

Do we need to bring Linen?

All our ocean view cottages, beach cottages and park cabins with ensuites are equipped with all your linen, pillows, doonas and bath towels for the maximum number of guests allowed. Our Standard Park Cabin only has linen provided for the double bed. The bunk beds do have a pillow and doona, Guests may bring their own linen/sleeping bag or you can hire a set of linen for an extra charge.

Do you have a minimum booking?

Easter period we do require a minimum of 4 nights in camping/cottages. Long weekends do require a 3 night stay in all accommodation. Weekends we do prefer a 2 night stay in all our cottages.

Do you have mobile reception?

There is no Mobile reception or Wifi available here at Hamelin Bay Holiday Park. You may receive texting at the Beach through Telstra otherwise it is a short 2kms drive out our Park to receive mobile signal.

Can we bring our cat or dog on holiday to Hamelin Bay?

Unfortunately, as our park is located within the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park, we are unable to accept domestic pets. You can try these pet friendly caravan parks located nearby in Augusta
